As a Patient Support Representative, you will play a crucial role in enhancing patient access through effective scheduling, documentation, and coordination of care-related communications.
Key Responsibilities
Inbound and Outbound Call Management: Manage patient appointments efficiently by scheduling, rescheduling, and confirming appointments.
Insurance Verification: Review and verify patient insurance eligibility to ensure smooth service delivery.
Referral and Prescription Management: Process requests for referrals and prescription renewals, maintaining accurate documentation and timely communication with clinical teams.
Patient Confidentiality: Uphold patient confidentiality by securely handling all patient health information and medical records.
Communication: Liaise with call center management to communicate progress and address any issues.
Document Management: Scan and import documents into patient charts to ensure accurate record-keeping.
Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned to support the call center and patient services.
Required Qualifications
Educational Background: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
Minimum of 1+ years of customer service experience in a call center environment.
At least 1+ years of healthcare experience.
A minimum of 1+ years in a role requiring effective verbal and written communication skills, as accurate information entry into patient records is critical.
Workspace: Access to a designated quiet workspace at home, separate from non-work areas, with the ability to secure Protected Health Information (PHI).
Internet Connection: Maintain an approved high-speed internet connection.
Preferred Qualifications
Appointment Scheduling Experience: Familiarity with scheduling patient appointments.
EMR Systems Experience: Proficiency in using electronic medical records systems.
